As the T20 World Cup 2024 is coming closer, the discussion among people about the selection of India’s team is increasing. Who will be selected in the Indian team this time? According to reports, a meeting was called by Indian team selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar in which he talked about Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid. According to the information, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli can be selected to start the game, which tentatively suggests that Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill will not be selected.

As everyone knows that Virat Kohli is performing well in IPL 2024 and is currently leading in the entire tournament. Let us tell you that recently Dainik Jagran’s report has come out which shows that Kohli is definitely in the lead. Interested whether he will be selected in the team or not. Given how well he has been playing, it may be very difficult for the selector to ignore him.

It would not be wrong to say that it is difficult for both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill to be selected, where Yashasvi Jaiswal, who played well in the Test series against England, has been unable to play well in IPL 2024 so far. On the other hand, Shubman Gill, who used to open for India with Rohit Sharma, can now be seen as a backup opener. Gill is currently ranked sixth in the IPL 2024 Orange Cap list after scoring 255 runs in six matches with a strike rate of 151.78. Meanwhile, Jaiswal averages 17.29 and has managed only 121 runs in seven matches.

The two most likely candidates to make the squad are Shivam Dubey of the Chennai Super Kings and Ryan Parag of Assam. With a strike rate of 161.42 and 318 runs scored in seven games for the Rajasthan Royals, Parag has done well in the IPL 2024. He is a capable middle-order batter. Contrarily, Dubey has made notable progress this season, as CSK has amassed 242 runs at a 163.51 strike rate in six games. He has been crucial for CSK as a finisher, and if chosen for the Indian squad, he should contribute in a similar capacity.
